Citizen Boards
Sapulpa Parks Advisory Board
Volunteer groups such as the Sapulpa Parks & Recreation Board play a vital role in the community. Without such people, citizen involvement would be just another nice idea, instead of a reality. Park Board was created in 1968, and is an advisory board to the Sapulpa City Council. The Park Board develops rules and regulations for the use of all municipally owned and operated park and recreation facilities.
Board meets on the 3rd Thrusday of every month at 7pm at the Sapulpa City Hall. Meetings are open to the general public and members are appointed by the mayor.
Sapulpa Youth Sports Council
Acts in an advisory capacity to the Sapulpa Park Board. The council promotes and advances youth / amateur sports in the Sapulpa, Creek County area. The council assists in the coordination of various local youth athletic organizations and their programs. The council interprets the needs and interests of youth involved in community athletics. The SYSC assists the Parks Department in developing long range plans for the improvement of athletic facilities. The SYSC promotes good sportsmanship, fellowship, leadership, and fair play, in it's mission of "Making Youth Sports Fun For Kids". Council is comprised of Sapulpa Parks Staff and the presidents of the local youth sports organizations.
Teen Council
The Sapulpa Teen Council is currently being organized by the Sapulpa Parks and Recreation Department. This is a great opportunity for young people to get involved with the planning, implementation, and oversight of a variety of recreation activities and events for teens. Here's your chance to develop your leadership skills while volunteering for a worth while and beneficial endeavor in your community
Anyone interested should contact the Parks and Recreation office at 918.224.5770.
